Psychological Testing

Our staff of clinicians and therapists is highly qualified to administer psychological testing and evaluations based on years of training and experience in the field,  and comprehensive assessments of the underlying causes for those issues that are most important and perhaps most puzzling to you. The conclusions drawn from use of these professional tools can point to the most successful strategies for you and the people about whom you care most.

NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL (or “neuropsych”) examines and assesses a client’s behavior as it relates to physical brain function. This test is often used when there is a known physiological problem such as head injury, or diseases of the brain. Sometimes provides a more comprehensive picture when looking at developmental delays or cognitive deficits in children.

DEVELOPMENTAL evaluations assess functioning and progress related to motor skills, speech and communication, and socialization involved in developmental challenges such as autism spectrum disorders. Early mediation and treatment can help offset deficits and help the client fulfill his or her potential.

EMOTIONAL / PERSONALITY evaluations gauge the integration of emotional and behavioral functioning. Personality, character and beliefs play a large role in how each of us faces difficulties and life struggles. When these go unevaluated or are overlooked, there is a risk of misdiagnosis and ineffective treatment plans.

ATTENTION DEFICIT / HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER (ADD or ADHD) and Learning Disability evaluations aid in clarifying the specific needs of students by ascertaining both strengths and deficits in the ways clients comprehend and process information. An academic / work plan for reaching one’s optimal potential can be designed based on such assessment.
